Spring has sprung and the rain has subsided. Time to get back to doing what we do best in Los Angeles, and make the most of our time outdoors. Here’s what’s happening in April that will help you do just that:
Rooftop Cinema Club
The fourth season of alfresco film viewing at the Montalban has kicked off! Enjoy beautiful city views and excellent movies including The Big Lebowski, Mean Girls, The Shape of Water and more. Movies, drinks and sunset ensure a perfect date night. More info and tickets here.
The Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire comes to SoCal the first weekend in April and runs Saturdays and Sundays through May 20. The oldest RenFair in the country, the event covers 20 acres in Irwindale, CA with Elizabethan dress, food and fun. Catch a joust, bring your own costume. More info and tickets here.
The open studio weekend in DTLA takes place April 7 and 8 form 11am to 6pm. Over 100 artists will showcase their latest works in one of the largest art complexes in the world. Aside from taking in tons of new art, there’s the added perk of dining at the Brewery’s onsite restaurant or lounging in the beer garden. The event it free to attend (and park). More info here.
Dapper Day Expo
A companion event to Dapper Days at Disneyland, the Dapper Day Expo will run April 21 and 22 (from 10am to 7pm) at Disneyland Hotel Exhibit Hall. The nearly 30,000 sq ft expo marketplace will offer everything from stylish, dapper apparel to eyewear, barbers and jewelry. Everything you need to feel your most dapper (and be ready for the next Dapper Days!). More info here.
Sleepless: The Music Center After Hours
Party the night away at the Music Center, after hours. Starting at 11:30 pm on April 6 and 7, the Music Center transforms into an interactive performance space where anything can happen from a pillow lounge in the lobby to a roller derby demo on Grand. This year’s theme is Disco Lives, so bust out your favorite bellbottoms. More info here.
